BRUGT

The Rickenbacker 660/12TP Tom Petty Limited Edition is a stunning homage to the legendary rock musician and his long-standing association with Rickenbacker guitars, blending iconic sound with superb craftsmanship.

Released in 1991 in a limited run of 1,000 instruments, the 660/12TP was produced in response to Petty’s request for a 12-string model that honored the classic Rickenbacker sounds of the 1960s. The 660 model itself stems from Rickenbacker’s revered 600 series, famous for its distinctive jangly tone and association with prominent rock artists, including the Byrds, the Beatles, and Petty himself.

This particular 1992 guitar has aged beautifully, with characteristic lacquer checking across its body that really adds to the look. It has a small finish “burn” on the back of the headstock, a common reaction of nitrocellulose finishes to prolonged contact with instrument stands. Weight is 3500g. Includes the original silver Rickenbacker case, but the COA is missing.
