BRUGT
Here’s a really lovely Taylor 450 12-string, built in 1996 in El Cajon, California. Introduced initially to expand Taylor’s lineup, the 400 series offered premium tonewoods and craftsmanship while aiming to make Taylor’s signature playability accessible to more musicians. By the mid-90s, Taylor had cemented its reputation for producing high-quality acoustic guitars with remarkable consistency and attention to detail, and the 450 model captured this ethos perfectly.
The 450 12-string features a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. This wood combination produces a warm, rich tone with a balanced low end and a shimmering high end, ideal for the 12-string’s lush, full-bodied sound.
Taylor is renowned for its silky playability, and the 450 does not disappoint. The 12-string configuration, often challenging to play on many guitars, feels smooth and accessible on this guitar thanks to Taylor’s slender neck profile and comfortable action. Plus, the guitar has excellent tuning stability, a big plus on any 12-string.
